Although many restaurants offer a lovely burrito, Burrachos, located at 2691 Windsor Street in Sun Prairie, is a nice change compared to the usual Mexican fast food chains. After a 30-minute drive, Norse Starians Grace Greenwald, Bode Jensen, Madeline Monthie, and Bella Patrinos arrived at a very welcoming scene with attentive employees.
It was relatively unbusy for a restaurant on a Saturday at 5 p.m., which was nice. The extensive menu overwhelmed the group, reviewing all the options before settling on their choices, which were assembled in front of them. The staff was super kind and fast in preparing the food as it only took around three minutes for their orders to be done.
For first impressions, the interior was very minimalistic, and all the tables were relatively clean. Food options included build-your-own burritos and tacos, nachos, salads, quesadillas, and sides of salsa, queso, guacamole, and tortilla chips. The average price range for one person is around 10 dollars. Additionally, you can choose from various drinks, including Jarritos, organic juice, organic milk, and fountain drinks.
As the group dug into their respective meals, other customers started trickling in, with a long line materializing. Once all the Norse Starians had a chance to try their food, Jensen expressed his experience with the work staff.
“Honestly, I’m gonna take Chipotle or Qdoba any day,” Jenson said. “I asked for salsa verde, and [the worker] stared at me like I spoke in a language she’d never heard before. She gave me normal salsa instead.”
Even with that unfortunate turn of events, Patrinos’s quesadilla was scrumdiddlyumptious and had a nice flavor with the addition of the seasoned chicken. Patrinos also found her burrito bowl to be assembled very well, and even though the addition of queso cost extra, Patrinos found it worth it. Greenwald also seemed to enjoy her meal, ordering a chicken burrito.
“It was super yummy and very filling. I also really appreciated how it didn’t fall apart while I was eating it. It did not get messy at all, unlike some other burrito places. I think it was a really good amount of food I got, and the employees were very friendly!” Greenwald said.
Monthie, who also ordered a burrito with carnitas instead of chicken, shared Greenwald’s sentiments.
“My family has been going to Burrachos for years, and it’s always been excellent,” Monthie said. “My burrito was very good, and I also got unlimited soda refills. I don’t know if that’s their policy, but no one stopped me.”
Although some found their meals unsatisfactory after reheating, the Norse Starians were impressed with Burrachos’s extensive menu, flavorful dishes, and clean and speedy environment. However, Burrachos did not seem very unique when compared to other similar restaurant chains. Overall, The Norse Star gives Burrachos 4/5 stars.
