SHS has many talented student, spanning from art kids to music kids. We’re finishing up our last Norse Star of the year featuring these people.
Orchestra
Erica Meyer (Teacher): “Our concert ‘moments’ and our trip to Nashville!”
Kiera V: “One of my favorite moments was when we went on tour to Nashville!”
Band
Alex Thessien: My favorite moment from the band this year would be our spring break trip to Nashville.
Dan Schmidt (Teacher): The Band Variety show last week! This program is put together by the Band students. Seeing what they come up with is both fun and rewarding!
Choir
Nora K: “My favorite memory from choir was when we went on our trip to New York my sophomore year. It was such a fun trip! The best part was getting to perform in Carnegie Hall. We also went on a tour of Ellis Island, saw the Statue of Liberty, and went to two Broadway shows that were fantastic! It was such a fun trip and I loved getting to spend the week in New York with my friends”
Ryan Casey (Teacher): “One of my favorite moments every year is when the curtain goes up for the Pops Concert. There is so much time that goes into rehearsing and arranging the songs, setting up the sound system and lights. It’s at that very moment I realize that there is no going back. I get a rush of adrenaline. “
Art
Natasha S: “My favorite part about art class is the creative freedom us advanced art students get. This year I got to explore different materials such as oil paint and charcoal, I also worked on my realistic painting skills. One of my favorite moments in art class would be when I painted an art stool. “
Ruth Phillips (Teacher): “All my classes this semester are very hard working and talented. My Art II was a pleasure to have many artistic students. My Basic 3D turned out to have many wins in animation for Badger Conference & WISDAA Film Festival.”
Theater/Musical
Emma T: “My favorite moment in theater is the moment right before I have to sing a solo or do a challenging dance (challenging for me at least). It’s also the scariest moment, but I get this rush of adrenaline and when it’s over, I get to celebrate how hard everyone in theater works to make our productions fun and entertaining.”
Liam W: My favorite moment in choir was being the king of the madrigal dinner. It was a magical moment that really felt like the culmination of my full 12 years of choir class and theater.
