Fall has arrived in full force, bringing with it chill air, festive spirits, and Halloween decorations. Why not take advantage of these fresh, crisp fall days? There are various fun, safe, and fall-themed activities this year in and around Stoughton to partake in. With COVID-19 numbers significantly lower than last year, it’s the perfect time to get out there and complete your fall bucket list!
A brisk twenty minutes away from Stoughton in Brooklyn, Wisc., is Alpine Ridge Orchard, a quaint apple orchard. The orchard not only has scenic views, but they also offer a corn maze, which they change yearly, a pumpkin patch, farm animals such as goats and chickens, and pick your own apples in many different selections. If you are looking for a fall-themed location perfect for aesthetic photos, Shady Nook Pumpkin Patch is the perfect place. From mid-September through all of October, this picture-esque fall market sells pumpkins and other specialty crops.
Eugster’s Farm, a staple of Stoughton, has many fall-themed activities, including fall markets, pumpkin patches, petting farms, orchard days, and much more. Eugster’s is also making their fall activities covid safe through all online tickets to limit contact and help contain the spread of COVID-19.
Hiking is another enjoyable fall activity. Wisconsin has many hiking trails such as the Yahara River Trail in Stoughton, the Lake Farm County Park Trail in Madison, and the Glacier Drumlin Trail in Cottage Grove, where you can even stop in for a cozy beverage at the Olde Town Coffee House right next to the trail.
Farmers markets are another classic fall activity. The farmer’s markets in Stoughton and Madison never disappoint, especially now that they’re stocked with fresh fall goods such as pumpkins, apples, and much more. Some towns nearby, such as Monona, McFarland, Oregon, Verona, and much more, have fall festivals stocked with entertainment, food vendors, contests, and lots more.
