This Hunger Games prequel dives back into the universe first created by Collins twelve years ago. It follows the life of the original antagonist of the series, Coriolanus Snow. It’s a fun read that keeps you guessing the whole time, even while knowing the fate of the main character. Fans of dystopia and the original “Hunger Games” trilogy should give this one a read. Book Club member Claire Hoppe (10) rates it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

This historical fiction novel is a bit of a dark read, but an important one. The story is about 15-year-old Lina, who is deported from her home and sent to a labor camp in Siberia. The author wrote this book after interviewing many survivors of the deportations, which makes it all the more personal. It’s very well-written, but can sometimes drag. If you’re into drama or historical fiction, this is definitely worth checking out! I gave this book a 4-star rating.
