Sunrise Family Restaurant
On a busy morning in Stoughton, Wisconsin, Sunrise Family Restaurant lived up to its name by offering a warm start to the day for many locals. Known for its classic breakfast options, friendly service, and affordable prices, the restaurant continues to attract steady crowds of regular customers and first-time visitors. The Nostrians Lilly Adams, Lily Holmes, Joel Rodriguez Aponte, and Lyra Romanshchenko visited the restaurant at 9 a.m on Jan. 17.
From the start of the visit, the service stood out as a strong part of the experience. Despite the restaurant being crowded, staff members remained welcoming and polite.
“Overall the service was really good,” Adams said. “The food came fairly quickly; for it being so busy and the staff were nice.”
Although the restaurant was packed, the seating added to the comfortable atmosphere.
“We were seated next to a window with a comfortable booth,” Adamas said. “I also enjoyed the atmosphere.”
Like many popular breakfast spots, Sunrise Family Restaurant often has a wait, especially during peak hours. However, customers seemed understanding of the delay given how many people were coming in. Everyone also seemed extremely friendly with all the conversations around us.
“The wait was kinda long, but I can also see why, They usually have a bunch of customers.” Romashchenko said.
Once the food arrived, the wait felt worth it. The portions were larger than expected, making the meals filling and satisfying.
One of the items tasted by Romashchenko was the breakfast wrap, which proved to be both filling and flavorful.
“The servings are much bigger than I thought,” Romashchenko said. “I couldn’t finish it fully. “The wrap was really good and hearty,”
Despite the generous portions, the prices remained low, making Sunrise Family Restaurant a good value for families and individuals alike.
The food itself delivered exactly what many people look for in a breakfast restaurant: simple, hearty, and flavorful meals.
“The food was tasty and definitely filled the requirement of good breakfast food,” Adams said.
Dessert also played a role in the experience, with the strawberry shortcake leaving a strong impression.
“The strawberry shortcake had kinda too much cream, but I still really enjoyed it,” Romashchenko said.
Rodriguez Aponte had their thick French toast that came with butter on top of it.
“You could taste the egg and cinnamon and the toast wasn’t burnt so it was all pretty good especially when you add syrup on top of it and the butter made it perfect.” Rodriguez Aponte said, “I know cheese curds are more like a lunch or dinner item but who can say no to them? these are actually good.” The cheese curds came with a side of ranch and the plate had enough for everyone at the table to eat them.
Adams had the Pancakes called the Early Bird, “They were very fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness.” Holmes said,
Holmes also had pancakes but a different item from the kids menu called Mickey Mouse Pancakes with a chocolate milk and links “Mickey Mouse pancakes are superior.” Holmes said.
Unlike the rest of us Holmes had been here before multiple times over the years. “I’ve been going here since I was little. This place is one of my favorites to go to for breakfast.”
Meals averaged around $10 to $20 per person which isn’t bad when the food is this good. Romashchenko and Holmes both rated it 4.5 out of 5 stars, Rodriguez Aponte and Adams rated it 4 out of 5, for an overall average rating of 4.3 with all seriousness if you haven’t tried Sunrise Family Restaurant yet, it may be worth the visit.
